How Transparent Ministries Can Help You Address Pornography

Have you ever noticed that we live in a sexually saturated society? You can’t turn on the television, attend a movie, or even begin to function within our society without being overwhelmed by images that channel your thoughts and, sometimes, your actions away from God’s very best.

Working with Freedom Begins Here, our hope was to begin to break down the walls on how to address the issue of pornography. And, one of the things we learned was that our guilt and our shame concerning this sin holds us back from addressing it. So, getting the conversation started is critical in order for the healing process to begin.

We created resources, attended conferences, and spoke in churches and universities concerning the struggles that Christians have with this addiction. And, we are still committed to counsel, to teach, and to guide pastors and church leaders. The Freedom Begins Here resources are excellent for getting this conversation started in the church.

We have assisted thousands of individuals in dealing with this addiction. These are good people. These are people who love God. But, they are struggling with this stronghold.

An essential ingredient for success, we’ve found, is to face this issue with people whom you can trust and with whom you can build an accountability relationship.

Establishing relationships, where we can be honest and transparent without fear of rejection, helps us to deal with this and with other issues that are holding us back from true intimacy with God.

I think of “Lord of the Rings” and how Frodo and Sam had a true relationship. They had struggles in their relationship, yet through good times and bad, they remained loyal and close friends.

Very few of us believe that we have friends who would accept us if they knew who we REALLY were. Yet, I have met hundreds of men and women who have taken this risk with other people, and they are now living life to the fullest, because of that risk.

Transparent Ministries can help you address pornography. We can help you address this in your own life or, on a larger scale, within your church or men’s group. We have men on our board who have addressed this issue in their lives and who are willing to help by being transparent and sharing their experiences. And, we also have resources.

Our goal is for struggling individuals to be restored. The battle is real. But, the victory is the Lord’s.
